Dancing has always been a big part of my life. As a child most of my days were filled up with creating new dance routines or taking ballet classes and then as a teen I'd be up dancing all night, at raves. Dance has been my biggest respite. When I dance, I unplug from my worries, my self-loathing and my propensity to step out of the present moment. It allows me to experience more fully my essence, my heart and being in a state of oneness with the human and the non-human community. At 15 I went to my first 5Rhythms workshop with the founder, Gabrielle Roth and I instantly resonated with her teachings. I discovered that 5Rhythms was an incredible tool for self-discovery as well as learning how to open my heart to myself and to others. When I dance, I feel more alive. I feel at home. I had found a practice that spoke to me and from that first workshop, the 5Rhythms became my movement medicine. My teens were a difficult time and having the support of my 5Rhythms practice and my regular class with Sue Rickards, was life-saving for me. When I was twenty, I did the foundation year for Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy, and that combined with my practice of the 5Rhythms gave me the confidence and ground work to write a book for teenage girls, called Sisters Unlimited - Every girl's guide, to life, love, bodies and BEING YOU, published by Random House. I became a mother in my mid twenties and after travelling the world, making a music documentary, called 1 Giant Leap, we moved to Mallorca and had our second daughter. At 28 I began the 5Rhythms training with Gabrielle Roth. I taught in Mallorca from 2007 and at the same time I opened a dance and yoga studio in the centre of Palma, called Earth Yoga. I left Mallorca at the end of 2011 and I moved to Oxford where I met my present husband and we lived there together with our four children until 2023. In 2014 we opened our first health food shop Wild Honey, and since, we have opened two more. As well as offering a great variety of quality organic products, our shops have also become central well-being hubs for our community. We moved to Bristol in 2023 and I began teaching classes and am loving getting to know the dance community here. We're hoping to open a new Wild Honey shop later this year. I am always eager to learn and I prioritise my ongoing healing journey. I love learning from other modalities and facilitators with whom I feel in alignment with. I completed 2 years of Family Constellations training with Nicola Dunn in 2021, a Shamanic Training with Carol Day and have done the first couple of years apprenticeship with Nathanial Hughes at the School of Insight Herbalism. This September I will begin a training with IBMT as a Somatic Therapist. I am an accredited 5Rhythms teacher and a member of the 5Rhythms Teacher Association. I feel blessed for the teachers I have met on my own healing journey. |
