I've always loved dancing. From the age of 2, I took ballet classes and even though I was never particularly good at it, I always enjoyed how I felt when I danced.
When I was a teenager I lived for dancing. My best-friend Shaka and I spent our time searching for great music and life became a dance floor. We discovered that we didn't need to use words to communicate, our bodies did all the talking.
When I was 15 I went to my first 5Rhythms workshop with the founder, Gabrielle Roth, and I instantly resonated with her teachings. I discovered that 5Rhythms was an amazing tool for self-discovery and for learning how to be more open and free.
When I danced, I felt more alive and more connected to myself and others. I couldn't believe there was a spiritual practice that centred around dance and from that very first workshop, the 5Rhythms became my medicine.
My teens were a difficult time and having the support of my 5Rhythms practice and my regular class with Sue Rickards, was life-saving for me. When I was twenty, I did the foundation year for psychosynthesis psychotherapy, and that combined with my practice of the 5Rhythms gave me the confidence and ground work to write a book for teenage girls, called Sisters Unlimited - Every girl's guide, to life, love, bodies and BEING YOU. I still work with different age groups of girls, teaching self-empowerment.
It wasn't until I moved to Mallorca in my late twenties, that I felt ready to do the teacher training. There was no doubt in my mind I wanted to deepen my relationship with this life-enriching practice and with myself.
I opened a dance and yoga studio in the centre of Mallorca called Earth Yoga, where I taught 5 Rhythms and co-created a community around the dance. I left at the end of 2011 and I'm now living in Oxford with my two daughters, running a health food shop and a movement studio called Wild Honey. It's wonderful to be back home and dancing again with the ever expanding 5 Rhythms UK tribe. I visit Mallorca regularly to teach the truly beautiful community of dancers that still live there.
As well as teaching regular weekly classes and workshops, I love facilitating 'women only' groups and retreats.
My style of teaching is intimate, dynamic and accompanied by great music.
